Crunch: Art in a new era

 

Will recession see a raft of unemployed, paint-smeared souls? Or is the recession in fact a sheath of silver lining underneath a dark cloud?
The financial decisions of the few have shaped the destiny of many, and to largely negative affect. But has the recession provided the break art needs from a heavily stagnant marketplace? Or: have the boom years been dealt a blow that will see art lost in the wilderness for years to come? We ask the reverent Charles Thomson, the legendary painter Patrick Hughes and the up and coming new artist Eleanor Lindsay-Fynn, before putting the question to you.
